How to Be a Short-Term Digital Nomad

How to Be a Short-Term Digital Nomad

Have you always wanted to travel the world while you work?

Not be stuck in one place? Or maybe go somewhere like Thailand, where your money is worth more?

Me too.. and in the next two minutes Im going to show you exactly how you can put yourself in that position.

First things first, you need to find a way to make money online.

Now you can do this a few different ways:

1. The best method is to work for yourself. I say this because it reinforces the values stated above. Only thing is, this will take time, especially if you don't have a foot in the business door.

Its not impossible but you definitely wont be traveling to Bali in the next 3 months. So its a more long term plan but a good one.

2. Find a remote job online. Go to linkedin jobs or indeed and find a relatively good paying remote job that you can do at any hour of the day.

This is important, you could get screwed if you choose to go somewhere with a crazy time change.

VERY IMPORTANT.. Make sure the employer is ok with the fact you wont be in the US. Make it clear thats where youre from but you will be traveling around.

Now, where do you go for this and how do you go about it:

1. Choose a location that has good wifi/ service. If you cant connect to the outside world it defeats the purpose of this. This is simple.

2. Find out if this location has a digital nomad visa. I know in Thailand there is a visa that lasts 180 days and can be extended once per entry.

3. Know the requirements of said visa. Again the visa for Thailand requires you to have a few things.

One, you must be 20 years old.

Two, you must have 500,000 Rupiah ($13,650) in your bank account.

Three, proof of employment with a registered company.

The last step is by far the most difficult...

Put it all together and make it happen!
